This weekend, I have the opportunity to serve and support one of my favorite missions, Coastal Carolina Chrysalis. If you've ever heard me talk about my youth group of teenage boys that meets once a week, the Taters, this is where it originated. It is part of a legacy that me and many others are a part of, and a tradition I am proud to carry on as I am a Billy's Boy, the 'reunion' group I attended as a teenager.

These reunion groups are part of the follow up from an organization known as Coastal Carolina Chrysalis, the youth version of the Walk to Emmaus, and a ministry of the Upper Room.

It is the intention of the Chrysalis experience to offer a young person (high school age) the opportunity, and encourage them, to seek a dynamic friendship with God through Christ. Chrysalis declares the Gospel message of Jesus, offering friendship to us and the fellowship of the community bound together by the Holy Spirit. In that community, each young person is encouraged to grow toward being the unique person he/she was created to be and grow in service of Christ by serving one another and the world around them.

These three day weekends have been going on in the Grand Strand since 1990, and are now world wide. I even participated in a Walk to Emmaus in Lagos, Nigeria a few years back! Chrysalis and serving youth has been a tremendous blessing in my life, and I always look forward to these weekends of friendship, reflection, and the ability to unplug from the outside world.

If I don't respond to you in a timely manner, know that I am doing very important work on the hearts and lives of young people, but that I will get back to you shortly. You can always call Adrianne too, she is happy to help, at 843-421-6863. She will be helping out the weekend behind the scenes.

If you pray, keep us in your prayers, if you do not pray, send love and light!
